El Pescador

El Pescador

A Local Favorite for Over 40 Years

El Pescador has been La Jolla's go-to seafood market and casual post-surf lunch & dinner spot since 1974.  They are located at 634 Pearl Street on the corner of Draper and you'll often see a line out the door.  The food is definitely worth the wait.  They offer catch-of-the-day cuts to-go or deliciously prepared as a sandwich, taco, or salad.

It is the perfect spot for a light, fresh, & healthy meal. Our favorite things on the menu are the Halibut Plate with rice, salad, and avocado, the Teriyaki Salmon Salad, the Dungeness Crab Salad, and Fish Tacos. The clam chowder is made fresh daily & a great choice for when the temp. drops below 68 degrees in La Jolla.

El Pescador also serves a nice selection of crisp white wines that pair perfect with fresh fish & a rotating tap of local beers including Ballast Point, Coronado Brew Co. & Karl Strauss.

If you are visiting La Jolla, you need to eat at this gem.  While you won't be able to take a suitcase of fresh fish home, grab an El Pescador hat or sweatshirt as a legit La Jolla souvenir. Be sure to take a minute to check out the beautiful pottery (lining the counter) made by manger, life long surfer and local artist, Joe Skoby. And one last thing, be sure to toss a tip into the jar for The Pesky Boys "because La Jolla girls are expensive".
